Vulk o el rock también se canta en euskera

Si algo está muy claro es que el rock es capaz de asimilar culturas e idiomas. Y cuando se hace bien da la impresión de que esa es la lengua original de este género musical.

El grupo de post punk vasco Vulk lanzó el 19 de noviembre un adelanto de su próximo disco Vulk Ez Da, que parece cumplir ese axioma.

Al dar a conocer el video de “Lanaren Kanta” (La Canción del Trabajo), el sello Montgrí aseguró que es uno de los cortes más acelerados del álbum y la mejor manera para entrar en el imaginario del disco.

El videoclip (que puedes ver al inicio de la nota) forma parte de una trilogía con el objetivo de captar la esencia de la banda en directo.

Una peculiaridad es que este álbum de los bilbaínos es cantado totalmente en euskera, a diferencia de trabajos anteriores en los que se apoyaron en el inglés.

Este disco es el tercero de Vulk, luego de “Beat Kamerlanden” (2017) y “Ground for Dogs” (2018).

Vulk, la universalidad sonora del rock

El nuevo LP estará disponible desde el 11 de enero del 2022. Antes, la banda programó una presentación en el Festival Internacional De Cine Documental y Cortometraje de Bilbao para presentar algunas de las nuevas canciones.

Quizás muchos no compartan la visión del mundo de Vulk. Pero no se puede negar que musicalmente han logrado hacer suya la universalidad sonora del rock.

Decía antes lo de su visión del mundo porque en “Lanaren Kanta” conceptualizan el trabajo como un obstáculo que nos impide desarrollar una vida plena.

Scorpions – Peacemaker (Official Video

A 50 años de su primer disco (“Lonesome Crow”) Scorpions lanzó el 25 de febrero de 2022 “Rock Believer”, un álbum en el que se proponen regresar a su sonido clásico.

El lanzamiento fue precedido por el documental de 3 partes de YouTube «Rock Believer», dirigido por Thomas Noehre, que profundiza en la creación del nuevo álbum.

El disco se grabó en Peppermint Park Studios en Hannover, Alemania y se mezcló en Hansa Studios en Berlín, Alemania con el ingeniero Michael Ilbert con el concepto de una banda en vivo en una habitación.

Este es el primer lanzamiento de Scorpion sdesde “Born To Touch Your Feelings – Best Of Rock Ballads”, una mezcla de material nuevo y clásico.

Si juzgamos por “Peacemaker”, el primer sencillo dado a conocer (que pueden ver al inicio de esta nota), se trata de una colección de canciones para creyentes del rock.

La música  de la pista es del guitarrista Rudolf Schenker y el bajista Pawel Maciwoda y la letra del cantante Klaus Meine.

Si juzgamos por “Peacemaker”, el primer sencillo dado a conocer (que pueden ver al inicio de esta nota), se trata de una colección de canciones para creyentes del rock.

Eso sí, sin silbidos ni participación de la CIA, como aseguró burlonamente el productor Hans-Martin Buff a la publicación Ultimate Classic Rock. 

Los legendarios rockeros alemanes Scorpions regresan con «Rock Believer», un disco creado en el estudio durante el encierro en Hannover.

El nuevo álbum tiene energía y calidad sin concesiones con pistas que constituyen relatos líriccos con el adn de las csnciones que hicieron a Scorpions una de las grandes bandas del rock.

El álbum de 15 piastas se presenta en varios formatos incluyendo la Limited black 180g 2LP.

En la entrevista con UCR el productor explicó que la banda quería revivir la sensación de sus álbumes clásicos pero no replicarla.

Para ello Scorpions miró hacia atrás a LP como Blackout, Love at First Sting y Lovedrive, recogiendo inspiración de su pasado. 

“Decidimos no hacer eso”, explicó Buff quien aclaró que como el sonido de la banda evolucionó desde esa época no se trata de una copia del enfoque de los años 70 y 80 .

“Pero habiendo dicho eso, desde el principio, estaba claro que iban a hacer un álbum rockero. Sin silbidos, sin participación de la CIA», agregó Buff

Buff aludió así a versiones de que la canción de la banda “Winds of Change” (Tiempos de Cambio) fue parte de un plan de propaganda de la Agencia Central de Inteligencia, para acelerar los cambios que llevaron a la caída del comunismo en Europa. La canción comienza con silbidos, algo poco habitual en el rock.

“Rock Believer” será el primer disco de Scorpions con el ex baterista de Motorhead Mikkey Dee, quien se unió en 2016 luego de la desaparición de su propio grupo.

En un comunicado la banda dijo que durante el aislamiento por la pandemia se retiraron a la ciudad de Hannover para trabajar en nuevas canciones.

El cantante Klaus Meine adelantó que la música fue escrita por él y el guitarrista Rudolf Schenker. «Grabamos el álbum como una banda en vivo en una habitación, como lo hicimos en los 80», señaló.

«La perspectiva de rockear con mis compañeros de banda frente a cientos de miles de fanáticos el próximo año y presentarles nuestro nuevo álbum ya me está poniendo la piel de gallina», dijo Schenker.

The Beatles Get Back, el documental de Peter Jackson, finalmente tomó la forma de un filme en 3 partes con 6 horas de duración.

El esperado documental The Beatles: Get Back de Peter Jackson se estrenó en Disney + el Día de Acción de Gracias.

Los 3 episodios, cada uno de 2 horas de duración aproximadamente. Esta decisión, según los productores, busca presentar de la mejor manera la gran cantidad de imágenes que Jackson revisó por más de tres años. 

Al inicio de esta nota puedes ver el taller divulgado 2 semanas antes del estreno relacionado con la grabación de “I’ve Got a Feeling”.

En ese adelanto se puede apreciar cómo colaboraron John, Paul, George y Ringo en Twickenham Film Studios.

El lanzamiento de The Beatles: Get Back originalmente se previó para 2020, pero la fecha fue transferida al 2021 debido a la situación creada por la pandemia de coronavirus.

Peter Jackson es tres veces ganador del Oscar y entre sus obras está la trilogía  «El señor de los anillos».

El documental se centra en las sesiones de grabación del álbum “Let It Be” de The Beatles y la planeación del último concierto de la banda en 1969 en una azotea en Savile Row de Londres.

El espectador puede presenciar el proceso de escritura y ensayo de 14 canciones pensadas para su lanzamiento en un acompañamiento del álbum en vivo. 

Contrario a un filme anterior con tema similar, la obra de Jackson muestra la existencia entre los 4 músicos de un ambiente cálido, de camaradería y creación colectiva.

La película (o serie) se realizó a partir de más de 60 horas de imágenes filmadas por Michael Lindsay-Hogg y más de 150 horas de audio inédito restaurado para este proyecto.

Jackson también tuvo acceso a los archivos privados de películas de The Beatles, algo sumamente raro.

U2 – Your Song Saved My Life (From Sing 2)

A mouthwatering preview of “Sing 2,” the sequel to the animated musical “Sing,” is the video for “Your Song Saved My Life,” the new U2 song featured in the film. A curious fact is that in this film Bono, the charismatic singer plays his first role as a voice actor.

The song is a collaboration of the Irish band with Education Through Music (ETM), a non-profit organization.

U2 – Your Song Saved My Life (From Sing 2)

Un adelanto apetitoso de “Sing 2”, la secuela del filme animado musical “Sing”, es el video de “Your Song Saved My Life”, la nueva canción de U2 que aparece en la cinta.

Un dato curioso es que en esta película Bono, el carismático cantante de U2, hace su primer papel como actor de voz. 

La canción es una colaboración de la banda irlandesa con Education Through Music (ETM), una organización sin fines de lucro.

El disco con la banda sonora del filme está disponible desde el 17 de diciembre, pero ya puedes hacer tu reserva en Amazon siguiendo el link que encontrás a continuación.

Studio 666, the Foo Fighters horror comedy

Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl Unveils Horror Comedy Movie ‘STUDIO 666

Foo Fighters stars in «Studio 666,» a feature-length horror-comedy, which hits US theaters on February 25.

The film, distributed by Open Road Films, takes place in a mansion where the band moves to record their tenth album.

But in order to fulfill his objective, Foo Fighters must face supernatural forces that threaten their lives and try to make the recording fail.

In the tape Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett and Rami Jaffee, the members of the band, interpret themselves.

In a press release Grohl explained:

“After decades of ridiculous music videos and numerous music documentaries under our collective belts, it was finally time to take it to the next level.

Like most things Foo, Studio 666 began with a far-fetched idea that blossomed into something bigger than we ever imagined possible.

Be ready to laugh, scream, and headbang in your popcorn. Studio 666 will fuck you up.”

Foo Fighters horror comedy

The film is based on a story by Grohl and with a script by Jeff Buhler and Rebecca Hughes.

According to the previews, the film was secretly filmed for two years in the same house where they recorded their album «Medicine at Midnight.»

Grohl explained that with this film they want to bring back the classic magic of their favorite rock movies but with a «bloody» twist.

“Get ready to laugh, scream, and shake your head in your popcorn. Studio 666 will screw you, «warned the musician.

On his side, the film’s director, BJ McDonnell, explained that with «Studio 666» he wanted to achieve a combination of the things he loves: rock, horror and comedy.

In his opinion, it is an old-fashioned rock movie from the 60s and 70s, mixed with horror.

His inspiration were films like «Help!» by The Beatles, «Head» by The Monkees, and «Meets the Phantom of the Park» by Kiss.

Studio 666 de Foo Fighters, un filme de rock sangriento

Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl Unveils Horror Comedy Movie ‘STUDIO 666

Foo Fighters protagoniza «Studio 666», una comedia de terror de largo metraje, que se estrenará en los cines estadounidenses el 25 de febrero.

La película, distribuida por Open Road Films, se desenvuelve en una mansión a la que se muda la banda para grabar su décimo álbum. 

Pero para poder cumplir su objetivo Foo Fighters debe enfrentar fuerzas sobrenaturales que amenazan sus vidas e intentan hacer fracasar la grabación.

En la cinta Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett y Rami Jaffee, los integrantes de la banda, se interpretan a sí mismos.

En un comunicado de prensa Grohl explicó:

«Después de décadas de videos musicales ridículos y numerosos documentales musicales bajo nuestro cinturón colectivo, finalmente llegó el momento de llevarlo al siguiente nivel. 

Como la mayoría de las cosas de Foo, Studio 666 comenzó con una idea descabellada que se convirtió en algo más grande de lo que jamás imaginamos posible».

El filme se basa en una historia de Grohl, con un guión de Jeff Buhler y Rebecca Hughes.

Según los adelantos la película se filmó en secreto durante dos años en la misma casa donde Foo Fighters grabó su disco «Medicine at Midnight.»

Grohl explicó que con este film quieren recuperar la magia clásica de sus películas favoritas de rock pero con un giro “sangriento”.

“Prepárate para reír, gritar y agitar la cabeza en tus palomitas de maíz . Studio 666 te joderá», advirtió el músico.

Por su parte el director del filme, BJ McDonnell, explicó que quiso lograr con ese filme una combinación de las cosas que ama: rock, terror y comedia. 

En su opinión es una película de bandas de rock de la escuela de los 60s y 70s, mezclada con terror.
