The Beatles Get Back, el documental de Peter Jackson, finalmente tomó la forma de un filme en 3 partes con 6 horas de duración.

El esperado documental The Beatles: Get Back de Peter Jackson se estrenó en Disney + el Día de Acción de Gracias.

Los 3 episodios, cada uno de 2 horas de duración aproximadamente. Esta decisión, según los productores, busca presentar de la mejor manera la gran cantidad de imágenes que Jackson revisó por más de tres años. 

Al inicio de esta nota puedes ver el taller divulgado 2 semanas antes del estreno relacionado con la grabación de “I’ve Got a Feeling”.

En ese adelanto se puede apreciar cómo colaboraron John, Paul, George y Ringo en Twickenham Film Studios.

El lanzamiento de The Beatles: Get Back originalmente se previó para 2020, pero la fecha fue transferida al 2021 debido a la situación creada por la pandemia de coronavirus.

Peter Jackson es tres veces ganador del Oscar y entre sus obras está la trilogía  «El señor de los anillos».

El documental se centra en las sesiones de grabación del álbum “Let It Be” de The Beatles y la planeación del último concierto de la banda en 1969 en una azotea en Savile Row de Londres.

El espectador puede presenciar el proceso de escritura y ensayo de 14 canciones pensadas para su lanzamiento en un acompañamiento del álbum en vivo. 

Contrario a un filme anterior con tema similar, la obra de Jackson muestra la existencia entre los 4 músicos de un ambiente cálido, de camaradería y creación colectiva.

La película (o serie) se realizó a partir de más de 60 horas de imágenes filmadas por Michael Lindsay-Hogg y más de 150 horas de audio inédito restaurado para este proyecto.

Jackson también tuvo acceso a los archivos privados de películas de The Beatles, algo sumamente raro.

U2 – Your Song Saved My Life (From Sing 2)

A mouthwatering preview of “Sing 2,” the sequel to the animated musical “Sing,” is the video for “Your Song Saved My Life,” the new U2 song featured in the film. A curious fact is that in this film Bono, the charismatic singer plays his first role as a voice actor.

The song is a collaboration of the Irish band with Education Through Music (ETM), a non-profit organization.

SING 2 (the film’s original soundtrack) is the result of the cooperation of Illumination, Universal Pictures and Republic Records.

You can see at the beginning of this note a preview of Sing 2, which is scheduled to hit theaters on December 22.

The film tells the adventures of the koala Buster Moon and his cast of artists to present his show at the Crystal Tower Theater in Redshore City, the entertainment capital of the world.

U2 – Your Song Saved My Life (From Sing 2)

Un adelanto apetitoso de “Sing 2”, la secuela del filme animado musical “Sing”, es el video de “Your Song Saved My Life”, la nueva canción de U2 que aparece en la cinta.

Un dato curioso es que en esta película Bono, el carismático cantante de U2, hace su primer papel como actor de voz. 

La canción es una colaboración de la banda irlandesa con Education Through Music (ETM), una organización sin fines de lucro.

El disco con la banda sonora del filme está disponible desde el 17 de diciembre, pero ya puedes hacer tu reserva en Amazon siguiendo el link que encontrás a continuación.

SING 2 (banda sonora original de la película) es resultado de la cooperación de  Illumination, Universal Pictures y Republic Records.

Studio 666, the Foo Fighters horror comedy

Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl Unveils Horror Comedy Movie ‘STUDIO 666

Foo Fighters stars in «Studio 666,» a feature-length horror-comedy, which hits US theaters on February 25.

The film, distributed by Open Road Films, takes place in a mansion where the band moves to record their tenth album.

But in order to fulfill his objective, Foo Fighters must face supernatural forces that threaten their lives and try to make the recording fail.

In the tape Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett and Rami Jaffee, the members of the band, interpret themselves.

In a press release Grohl explained:

“After decades of ridiculous music videos and numerous music documentaries under our collective belts, it was finally time to take it to the next level.

Like most things Foo, Studio 666 began with a far-fetched idea that blossomed into something bigger than we ever imagined possible.

Be ready to laugh, scream, and headbang in your popcorn. Studio 666 will fuck you up.”

Foo Fighters horror comedy

The film is based on a story by Grohl and with a script by Jeff Buhler and Rebecca Hughes.

According to the previews, the film was secretly filmed for two years in the same house where they recorded their album «Medicine at Midnight.»

Grohl explained that with this film they want to bring back the classic magic of their favorite rock movies but with a «bloody» twist.

“Get ready to laugh, scream, and shake your head in your popcorn. Studio 666 will screw you, «warned the musician.

On his side, the film’s director, BJ McDonnell, explained that with «Studio 666» he wanted to achieve a combination of the things he loves: rock, horror and comedy.

In his opinion, it is an old-fashioned rock movie from the 60s and 70s, mixed with horror.

His inspiration were films like «Help!» by The Beatles, «Head» by The Monkees, and «Meets the Phantom of the Park» by Kiss.

So get ready to listen to rock, laugh, and face fear.

Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl Unveils Horror Comedy Movie ‘STUDIO 666

Foo Fighters protagoniza «Studio 666», una comedia de terror de largo metraje, que se estrenará en los cines estadounidenses el 25 de febrero.

La película, distribuida por Open Road Films, se desenvuelve en una mansión a la que se muda la banda para grabar su décimo álbum. 

Pero para poder cumplir su objetivo Foo Fighters debe enfrentar fuerzas sobrenaturales que amenazan sus vidas e intentan hacer fracasar la grabación.

En la cinta Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett y Rami Jaffee, los integrantes de la banda, se interpretan a sí mismos.

En un comunicado de prensa Grohl explicó:

«Después de décadas de videos musicales ridículos y numerosos documentales musicales bajo nuestro cinturón colectivo, finalmente llegó el momento de llevarlo al siguiente nivel. 

Como la mayoría de las cosas de Foo, Studio 666 comenzó con una idea descabellada que se convirtió en algo más grande de lo que jamás imaginamos posible».

El filme se basa en una historia de Grohl, con un guión de Jeff Buhler y Rebecca Hughes.

Según los adelantos la película se filmó en secreto durante dos años en la misma casa donde Foo Fighters grabó su disco «Medicine at Midnight.»

Grohl explicó que con este film quieren recuperar la magia clásica de sus películas favoritas de rock pero con un giro “sangriento”.

“Prepárate para reír, gritar y agitar la cabeza en tus palomitas de maíz . Studio 666 te joderá», advirtió el músico.

Por su parte el director del filme, BJ McDonnell, explicó que quiso lograr con ese filme una combinación de las cosas que ama: rock, terror y comedia.

The Jag Stang guitar by Kurt Cobain returned in 2021

Fender announced that the Jag Stang guitar designed by Kurt Cobain returned in 2021 as part of the celebration for the 30th anniversary of Nirvana’s “Nevermind” album. The new guitar model has been available since October.

Manufacturers claim that this limited-edition comes equipped with the same features that made it Kurt’s ideal instrument.

This new Jag-Stang (from Jaguar and Mustang) starts from the specifications made by Cobain in 1993 (one year before he died). The original was produced in 1994 and was last reissued in 2003.

The new instrument brings the same original finishes: Sonic Blue and Fiesta Red (right and left-handed).

Despite being the model most associated with the Nirvana frontman, Cobain only played guitar a few times live.

The guitar was designed by Kurt Cobain from Fender’s Mustang and Jaguar models.

After five decades of records made primarily of original material, Deep Purple’s 22nd studio album consists solely of songs previously recorded by other artists.

Cuts on the record were previously recorded by Love, Huey «Piano» Smith, Fleetwood Mac, Mitch Ryder & the Detroit Wheels, Bob Dylan, Ray Charles & Quincy Jones, Little Feat, The Yardbirds, Lonnie Donegan / Johnny Horton, Bob Seger, and Cream.

Also included is «Caught In The Act», a medley of songs by Freddie King, Booker T. and MG’s, The Allman Brothers, Led Zeppelin, and The Spencer Davis Group.

Despite being covers, the album can be considered 100% Deep Purple, because the band managed to impose its imprint on all versions.

In December 2020, Deep Purple bassist Roger Glover revealed that the band was working on a new project.

The recording was made remotely due to confinement restrictions due to the pandemic, and comes out with the earMusic label.

Classical music lovers have for the first time the possibility of listening to the complete Beethoven X Symphony, thanks to the completion made by artificial intelligence of the handwritten sketches left by the musical genius.

Artificial Intelligence served as an instrument for musicologists and classical music experts to complete Beethoven’s X Symphony.

A known fact is that Beethoven left his tenth symphony unfinished, for some experts what would have been his masterpiece.

But on October 9, 2021, the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn performed the complete work under the baton of its conductor Dirk Kaftan.

How was it possible? Well, through the collaboration of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Ever since Ludwig van Beethoven died in 1827, the notation of his 10th Symphony, which was only written in handwritten sketches in the year of his death, has been nicknamed «the Unfinished».

One year after the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth, an attempt has been made with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) to transfer the composition fragments into a fully formulated work.

The 10th Symphony, as heard on this recording by the Bonn Beethoven Orchestra under the baton of its conductor Dirk Kaftan, is a dialogue-based collaboration between man and machine, in which the AI’s artificial neuronal networks were challenged to be creative in their own right, but the human being continued to be responsible for the final score.

This recording is thus a snapshot that reflects the state of cooperation between man and machine today, without the claim to have completed a «real» 10th Symphony, as it would have flowed analogously from Beethoven’s scratchy pen.

This Tenth Symphony entitled “Beethoven X – The A.I. Project ” will be available from November 14, 2021 on CD.

Deutsche Telekom AG distributes the disc under exclusive license from BMG Rights Management GmbH.

Ahmed Elgammal, professor and director of the Art and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at Rutgers University, led the artificial intelligence portion of the project.

He was summoned to the group in early 2019 by Dr. Matthias Röder, director of the Karajan Institute in Salzburg. Röder’s team also included Austrian composer Walter Werzowa, who was in charge of integrating what Beethoven did with the creation of the I.A.

Elgammal explained in The Conversation how Beethoven’s entire work and creative process were taught to a machine. That process included «teaching» the machine how Beethoven constructed the Fifth Symphony from a four-note ground motif.

Huxley was also taught to take a melodic line and harmonize it, learn to put two sections of music together, and compose a coda.

The project passed its litmus test when a pianist performed the work for journalists, music scholars, and Beethoven experts.

“We challenged the audience to determine where Beethoven’s sentences ended and where the A.I. extrapolation began. They couldn’t, ”Engammal said.

Surely many will not agree with the method and perhaps would have preferred to continue dreaming about what Beethoven could have done.
