Freddie Mercury is going to be Honored by the publishing house Z2 Comics that chose the late frontman of Queen for a new graphic novel.
At first glance it seems an attempt to resume the popularity of the artist and make him known among children and young people.
For the first time in comics format, Freddie Mercury: Lover of Life, Singer of Songs will be a journey through Freddie’s life; from his childhood in Zanzibar.
The book also covers his years in England, to become the rock star, known and loved by millions around the globe.
The story is told in his own words, with each chapter giving a glimpse into the many facets of his life.
Farrokh Bulsara and his compelling existence, both on and off stage — that was the life of Freddie Mercury, Lover of Life, Singer of Songs.
Freddie Mercury Honored as Lover of Life, Singer of Songs
Written by Tres Dean (All Time Low Presents: Young Renegades), the graphic novel will give a true insight into the many experiences that helped shape the young. It is illustrated by Kyla Smith, Robin Richardson, Safiya Zerrougui, Tammy Wang, and Amy Liu.
Printers stressed that a David Mack cover painting will demonstrate from the cover itself that a graphic novel «is a must for fans of the vocalist.»
This graphic novel, inspired by his life, will go on sale on April 26, 2022, although you can already make a reservation at the Amazon link provided above.
Freddie Mercury was in addition to an extraordinary singer and communicator with crowds, composer, pianist and musician, a graphic designer.
He graduated in Art and Graphic Design from Ealing Art School in London in the 1960s and was even the designer of the well-known Queen logo, so he would understand this tribute very well.
